St. John Hospital and Medical Center in Michigan Renames Pediatric Services

Warren, Mich.-based St. John Providence Health System announced its St. John Hospital and Medical Center in Detroit has renamed its pediatric services St. John Providence Children's Hospital.

St. John Hospital and Medical Center "earned the privilege" of renaming its pediatric services because it was accepted for associate membership by the Children's Hospital Association, according to the release. Children's Hospital Association was formed in 2011 by the merger of Child Health Corporation of America; National Association of Children's Hospitals and Related Institutions; and National Association of Children's Hospitals.

Membership in the association will also allow St. John Hospital and Medical Center to collaborate on quality improvement, comparative benchmarking, networking and advocacy, according to the release.

St. John Providence Children's Hospital includes a 40-bed inpatient unit, an 11-bed pediatric ambulatory surgery unit, Pediatric Children's Center, Meade Pediatric Hematology Oncology Center and other facilities.
