San Diego-based Scripps Health has unveiled the Scripps Proton Therapy Center, the first proton therapy center in San Diego County.
Additionally, it is the first facility in the nation to offer "pencil-beam scanning," an even more precise treatment procedure than standard proton therapy, according to the news release.
The center also announced it will be affiliated with Rady Children's Hospital-San Diego and the UC San Diego Health System.
