Novant Health in North Carolina Plans New Cancer Center

Winston-Salem, N.C.-based Novant Health plans to build a new medical office building that will house a cancer center, according to a Business Journal report.

The 30,000-square-foot building will be adjacent to Novant's Kernersville (N.C.) Medical Center. Half of the facility will house the new cancer center, and the other half will house other medical practices, including Winston-Salem Cardiology Associates, Salem Surgical Associates and Martinat Outpatient Rehabilitation Center.

The cancer center will be operated by Novant-owned Piedmont Hematology-Oncology Associates and Piedmont Radiation Oncology and will feature a linear accelerator, according to the report.

Construction on the medical building is expected to begin next month and be completed in 12 to 18 months.
