Lancaster (Pa.) Regional Medical Center and Heart of Lancaster (Pa.) Regional Medical Center are affiliating with Hershey (Pa.) Medical Center to offer expanded cancer care, according to a Lancaster Online report.
The affiliation agreement between the two Lancaster hospitals — both are owned by the same management company, Health Management Associates — and Hershey Medical Center will provide patients access to Hershey's clinical trials for cancer research, as well as the opportunity to see cancer specialists at Hershey.
Additionally, patients will have access to Hershey's genetic counselors. Hershey will also help the Lancaster hospitals develop genetic counseling programs if the hospitals decide to do so, according to the report.
