Cancer Center of Santa Barbara (Calif.) and Santa Barbara-based Sansum Clinic announced a new partnership to enhance cancer care.
The partnership, which includes affiliated physician groups, is designed to expand access to quality cancer care, increase information sharing and improve coordination of care.
Under the agreement, cancer care at Sansum Clinic will become part of the joint organization, which will be called Cancer Center of Santa Barbara or "Cancer Center" for short, according to the release. The name will include "with Sansum Clinic" when the new entity's logo is displayed.
The boards of both non-profit organizations have voted in favor of the partnership, which is expected to be finalized in the coming months, according to the release.
