Competing Twin Cities Hospitals Combine Heart Surgery Programs

Regions Hospital and St. Joseph's Hospital, both in St. Paul, Minn., will combine their cardiothoracic surgery programs, according to a Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal report.

The partnership stems from the departure of a St. Joseph's cardiac surgeon, making the hospital's heart surgery program unsustainable, according to the report.

The combined program would be the largest in the Twin Cities, according to the report.
