Children's Mercy Hospitals and Clinics in Kansas City, Mo., will open its new Elizabeth J. Ferrell Fetal Health Center next month, according to a Sacramento Bee report.
The hospital began delivering babies in spring 2011 in a temporary space in the hospital. The new center will include two specialized delivery/operating rooms, four labor and recovery rooms and a sibling playroom.
The facility will focus on care for high-risk babies who may need surgery or other treatment soon after delivery, according to the report.
