Three orthopedic surgeons at Frank R. Howard Memorial Hospital in Willits, Calif., have been trained and now perform carpal tunnel surgery using the MANOS technique, according to a Willits News report.
Currently, there are only 40 MANOS-trained orthopedic surgeons in the country, the report said. MANOS is a 10-minute minimally invasive procedure for carpal tunnel patients that makes a 2.1 mm incision and allows patients to recover in one to two weeks instead of the usual six-week recovery time frame.
According to the report, Howard Memorial is the only hospital north of Santa Rosa, Calif., that offers the procedure.
