California Bill Would Require Insurers to Slash Chemotherapy Pill Costs

A member of the California State Assembly, Henry T. Perea (D-Fresno), announced a bill that would lower chemotherapy costs has been sent to Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr.

The AB 1000-Access to Cancer Treatment Act is designed to improve cancer patients' access to affordable care. The bill would require health plans and insurers to cover oral medication for cancer treatment at the same cost as intravenous chemotherapy treatments.
