Adventist HealthCare in Maryland to Break Ground on Cancer Center

Rockville, Md.-based Adventist HealthCare announced it will break ground on the Aquilino Cancer Center at its Shady Grove Adventist Hospital in Rockville June 6.

The 50,000-square-foot facility will be the first freestanding, comprehensive outpatient cancer center in Montgomery County, according to the release. The center will offer chemotherapy and infusion, radiation therapy, pain and symptom management, genetic counseling, an education and resource area, rehabilitation, nutrition counseling, alternative medicine and fitness activities. The facility will also house physician offices and clinical research. 

The cancer center, which is named in honor of donor Michael Aquilino, is scheduled to open in the summer of 2013.
