A new, $132 million replacement hospital for Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon, Va., has officially opened, according to a Bristol Herald Courier report.
The 116-bed hospital began treating patients on Saturday, replacing Johnston's old facility in downtown Abingdon.
The facility was financed with help from the Mountain States Health Alliance, which then-independent Johnston joined in 2009, according to the report.
