Texas Bill Would Give States Autonomy in Running Medicaid

The Texas Senate has approved a bill that would allow Texas to join an interstate compact designed to change Medicaid and healthcare payment methods, according to a Dallas Morning News report.

The group plans to seek congressional permission to run the state-federal Medicaid program without "interference" from the federal government and to form healthcare collaboratives to test new payment models for incentivizing high quality.
