Landmark Medical Center in Woonsocket, R.I., is seeking $20 million from the state's General Assembly, according to The Providence Journal.
The money would come from a tax increase on health-insurance premiums that would raise $5 million annually for four years for Landmark, which has been under court supervision for close to two years starting when it was on the verge of insolvency, according to reports.
The money would go toward the hospital's merger with Massachusetts chain Caritas Christi Health Care.
