Ohio's University Hospitals Trustee to Help Fund $1.2B Expansion Plan

A trustee of University Hospitals in Cleveland has donated an extraordinary $30 million to the health system 11 months after it announced a $1.2 billion expansion plan, according to a Cleveland Plain Dealer news report.

The extensive expansion includes a new 200-bed hospital and improvements to neonatal intensive care and emergency departments. Construction for the new hospital will start next year and will be located in Chagrin Highlands, Ohio, according to the news report. Hospital officials unveiled they will be naming the hospital The Ahuja Medical Center in honor of the health system trustee.
