New York's Peninsula Hospital in Danger of Closing

Peninsula Hospital in Far Rockaway, N.Y., which owes vendors approximately $13 million and is still losing money, may be shutting down operations within 90 days, according to a NY1 report.

Other reasons for shutting down include reduced Medicaid reimbursements and uninsured patients. Hospital officials are working on a resolution but failed to reach an agreement in a meeting held last week. If Peninsula Hospital shuts down, it would be the fourth hospital to close in the Queens borough since 2008, according to the news report.
