Girard (Kan.) Medical Center has opened the doors to a $10 million expansion, which increased the hospital's surgical, ICU and therapy departments, according to a report in The Morning Sun.
The new ICU contains four private patient care rooms, and the surgical department includes updates to operating room equipment, four pre-op and four post-op patient areas and three private extended recovery rooms, according to the report. Twelve patient care areas, some with room for family members to stay, were also added.
