Marietta, Ga.-based WellStar Health System is planning to build a 112-bed, $125 million facility to replace WellStar Paulding Hospital in Dallas, Ga., according to an Atlanta Journal-Constitution report.
The new hospital will be located in Hiram, Ga., and is expected to create approximately 300 new jobs. WellStar is also planning a new medical office building that will generate another 200 jobs.
The health system is constructing new facilities to meet Paulding's growing population, which has increased almost 75 percent in the past 10 years and is projected to increase another 19 percent by 2016, according to the report.
