The Franciscan Alliance, a multi-state Catholic health system based in, Mishawaka, Ind., has acquired the Surgical Hospital of Munster (Ind.) to serve as an ambulatory surgery center, according to a report from the Munster Times.
The Franciscan Alliance, which has 13 hospitals in Indiana and Illinois, acquired the surgical hospital April 14 as part of the health system's plan to become an accountable care organization, according to the report.
About 20 physicians will serve the new ASC, which features four ORs and 14 recovery bays.
The purchase price of the acquisition was not disclosed.
