Fitch Ratings has assigned an A-rating to Aurora Health Care in Wisconsin for its low-operating risk profile and operating profitability and says the outlook is stable, according to a Fitch news release.
Helping the 14-hospital system earn an A-rating were the following factors:
• Excellent management practices. AHC's integrated delivery model has allowed the system to achieve quality measurements which have been recognized as some the best in the U.S. by CMS while delivering that care at costs that are among the lowest in the region.
• Increased leading market share position in eastern Wisconsin from 25 percent in 1999 to 29.8 percent in 2009 — exceeding competitors by more than 10 percent.
• A lower operating risk profile, resulting from AHC’s large base of employed physicians and long-term managed care contracts.
