Frank R. Howard Memorial Hospital in Willits, Calif., and its operating company, Adventist Health, headquartered in Roseville, Calif., are planning to spend approximately $62 million to rebuild, rather than renovate, the hospital, according to a North Bay Business Journal news report.
The new hospital will be built nearby on 33 acres of land, totaling nearly 74,000 square feet. It will include a medical building, a potential wellness center and will increase the size of its current emergency department two-fold, according to the news report.
Final project plans are still pending final approval by the state Office of Statewide Health Planning Development, which hospital officials expect will take one year. Construction will span over a two-year period, with an anticipated completion date of summer 2014.
