Chicago-based Zest Health, a consumer-focused, mobile health company, has named Ann Mond Johnson CEO.
Here are six things to know about Ms. Mond Johnson.
1. She is a nationally recognized leader in healthcare consumerism and has built her career managing innovative healthcare technology companies.
2. Previously, she served as chairwoman of the board of managers and advisor for ConnectedHealth, which provides private health insurance exchanges. During her tenure there, she was instrumental in developing the company's strategy and guiding business development and fundraising.
3. Prior to ConnectedHealth, Ms. Mond Johnson served as senior vice president at WebMD after selling Subimo to the healthcare information giant in 2006.
4. She was CEO and co-founder of Chicago-based Subimo, which provided healthcare decision support applications to large employers, health plans and financial institutions.
5. She also served as senior vice president at Sachs Group (now part of Ann Arbor, Mich.-based Truven Health Analytics), and currently advises several early stage companies including Portland, Ore.-based Conversa Health and is on the board of Chicago-based Ludi.
6. Ms. Mond Johnson's appointment comes on the heels of Zest Health's raising of more than $6 million from a well-respected group of healthcare and consumer technology investors, including 7Wire Ventures, Lightbank, Zaffre Investments, Martin Ventures, Dallas Venture Partners and LSAN/Azimuth Ventures.
