Morgantown, W.Va.-based WVU Medicine named Richard Funnell vice president of cancer services, effective May 21.
Mr. Funnell previously worked at Philadelphia-based Penn Medicine, where he served as chief administrative officer of the cancer service line. He also oversaw operations of the Abramson Cancer Center, which is a National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, in Philadelphia.
Mr. Funnell previously served as senior director of business development for oncology at Spectrum Health in Grand Rapids, Mich., and as senior administrator for medical and pediatric oncology services at Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo, N.Y.
In his new role, Mr. Funnell will join the WVU Cancer Institute and oversee the growth of its capacity to serve cancer patients.
