Winnie Mack steps into leadership at Nassau University Medical Center

An executive from New Hyde Park, N.Y.-based Northwell Health, Winnie Mack, will become interim leader of East Meadow, N.Y.-based Nassau University Medical Center, effective April 15, according to a Newsday report.

Ms. Mack will lead the hospital as part of a multiyear agreement Northwell Health signed with the struggling hospital. Per the agreement, Northwell will provide interim leadership at Nassau University Medical Center as well as help it build a senior leadership team. It will also provide consultative services. Additionally, Northwell will develop a five-year strategic plan to help Nassau University Medical Center and its associated facilities recover financially.

Ms. Mack, senior vice president of operations at Northwell Health, will oversee Nassau University Medical Center as president and CEO of NuHealth, the public benefit corporation that runs the hospital. She has 40 years of experience in the healthcare industry.

Northwell Health and Nassau University Medical Center have been affiliated with each other since 2005, and they have partnered previously for physician recruitment activities.
