White Plains (N.Y.) Hospital appointed Susan Fox CEO, effective May 1.
Ms. Fox had previously served as president and is now president and CEO. She succeeds Jon B. Schandler, who retired as CEO on April 30.
In a news release, Ms. Fox said she would make sure the hospital continues to provide the community with excellent patient-centered care, and will look for ways to leverage the hospital's alliance with Montefiore Health System, based in Bronx, N.Y., to improve patient care.
Ms. Fox began her career as a pediatric intensive care nurse and went on to serve in several leadership positions after earning an MBA in healthcare administration from Baruch College-Mount Sinai School of Medicine, according to the hospital.
She was senior manager of healthcare consulting at Ernst & Young and then, for 14 years, was senior vice president of Physician and Ambulatory Network Services at Great Neck, N.Y.-based North Shore-LIJ Health System, according to White Plains. She joined White Plains in 2010 as senior vice president of administration and was named president in 2013.
