Richard Gemming has been named executive director of the Western Connecticut Medical Group and vice president of Danbury-based Western Connecticut Health Network.
Here are three things to know about Mr. Gemming.
1. He joins WCHN from the NewYork-Presbyterian Healthcare System where he led strategy and development of the system's primary and specialty care physician network.
2. Prior to joining NewYork-Presbyterian Healthcare System, Mr. Gemming was COO of the Center for Interventional Vascular Therapies at Columbia University in New York City. There, he developed "HeartSource," a consultative service to six acute care hospitals and 10 other institutions nationwide.
3. Mr. Gemming earned a bachelor's degree in medicine from Long Island University, which has campuses in Brooklyn and Brookville, N.Y., and a master's degree in public health from Columbia University.
