Alex Villa, CEO of Bullhead City-based Western Arizona Regional Medical Center, is leaving his position to lead a hospital in Tennessee, according to a Mohave Valley Daily News report.
Mr. Villa will resign from his post Sept. 6 after four years at the helm of WARMC. He has accepted a job as CEO of Tennova Healthcare-Clarksville (Tenn.).
"This has been a difficult decision for my family and me," Mr. Villa said in a news release issued to the Mohave Valley Daily News. "It has been my honor to support the compassionate caregivers at WARMC and their work to deliver high-quality care, and we will truly miss the Bullhead City community that has supported us over the last four years."
Mr. Villa joined WARMC in 2012. Since that time, the hospital was named a Top Performer on Key Quality Measures by the Joint Commission four consecutive years, earned Chest Pain Center accreditation from the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care, became a designated Cardiac Receiving Center by the Arizona Department of Health, and earned Joint Commission Gold Seal Designations in total hip, knee and shoulder replacements, along with heart failure and outpatient wound care, according to the report.
