Thomas R. Harlow has been named senior vice president of York, Pa.-based WellSpan Health and president of WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital in Lebanon, Pa., effective June 6.
Here are five things to know about Mr. Harlow.
1. He is a healthcare executive with 30 years of leadership experience.
2. Most recently, he served at Geisinger-Shamokin Area Community Hospital in Coal Township, Pa.
3. He joined Shamokin Area Community Hospital as president and CEO in 2006, where he led the acute care hospital through its affiliation with Danville, Pa.-based Geisinger Health System, according to a news release. He remained in his leadership post as chief administrative officer for the hospital and its affiliated services after the transaction.
4. In his new role, Mr. Harlow succeeds Robert J. Longo, who retired in December after 32 years with Good Samaritan.
5. He will be responsible for daily operating activities and will oversee the performance improvement and patient experience initiatives of the 170-bed acute care hospital, according to a news release. He will also serve as the executive leader for WellSpan's system of care in Lebanon County in Pennsylvania.
