Wellforce taps Michael Dandorph as CEO

Burlington, Mass.-based Wellforce health system has named Michael J. Dandorph president and CEO.

Mr. Dandorph will take over the role in January. 

He previously served as president of Rush University System for Health and Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. He also served as COO and executive vice president for clinical affairs. 

Before joining Rush, he was senior vice president of strategy and business development at the University of Pennsylvania Health System (Penn Medicine) in Philadelphia.

At Wellforce, he will lead an organization with four community hospital campuses, an academic medical center, a children's hospital, home care and more than 15,000 employees and clinicians.

Mr. Dandorph will succeed Norm Deschene, who retired at the end of 2018. Michael Wagner, MD, has served as interim CEO at Wellforce and will return to the organization next year as chief physician executive.
