Marlton, N.J.-based Virtua health system named Dennis W. Pullin president and CEO. He is succeeding Richard P. Miller who is retiring at the end of 2017, ending a 21-year stint as the organization's leader.
Mr. Pullin currently serves as president of Baltimore-based Medstar Harbor Hospital and senior vice president of MedStar Health, a 10-hospital system also based in Baltimore.
Before joining MedStar Health, he was senior vice president and COO of MedStar Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C. His previous roles include serving as vice president of operations and business development at St. Luke's Episcopal Health System in Houston and vice president of acquisitions and development at Symbion Ambulatory Resource Centers in Nashville, Tenn.
Mr. Pullin is an associate professor of healthcare management at Towson (Md.) University. He is a regent of the American College of Healthcare Executives and a member of the Maryland Hospital Association.
Mr. Pullin will assume his new role at Virtua in the fall.
