Richmond-based Virginia Commonwealth University Health System tapped Deborah Davis to serve as chief of strategic initiatives, effective Jan. 2.
Here are six things to know:
1. Ms. Davis previously served as CEO of VCU Hospitals and Clinics.
2. She assumed her previous role in 2016.
3. In her new role, Ms. Davis will oversee completion of new inpatient facilities as well as the $349.2 million outpatient facility that is under construction. She will also drive collaborations with other health systems.
4. Shane M. Cerone will take over as interim CEO of VCU Hospitals and Clinics.
5. He is the founder and CEO of Health Market Solutions, a healthcare consulting firm that provides interim CEO services.
6. Mr. Cerone has prior experience serving as interim president of SSM Health Saint Louis University Hospital and Mercy Iowa City (Iowa).
