Seattle-based University of Washington Medicine added Brian P. Goldstein, MD, as chief health system officer, effective November 2016. In his new role, Dr. Goldstein will oversee the operations of UW Medicine's clinical entities.
Dr. Goldstein is currently the executive vice president and COO of Chapel Hill-based University of North Carolina Hospitals. He has led a number of strategic planning initiatives, facility expansion projects and process improvements at UNC Hospitals. He has also served as executive associate dean for clinical affairs at UNC School of Medicine.
Dr. Goldstein earned his medical degree from New York University School of Medicine in New York City and his master's degree in business administration from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.
