UPMC Jameson President Doug Danko to retire in June

New Castle, Pa.-base UPMC Jameson President Doug Danko announced his plans to retire, effective June 30, 2017. He has worked with the organization for 42 years.

Mr. Danko, who joined the organization as a respiratory therapist, was named president in 2008. He previously served as vice president of professional services and COO of Jameson.

During his tenure as president, Mr. Danko played a key role in successfully completing Jameson Health System's merger with UPMC and also led the organization's $22 million campus expansion in 2013.

Don Owrey, currently president at Farrell, Pa.-based UPMC Horizon, will serve as president of both UPMC Jameson and UPMC Horizon, effective July 1. Mr. Owrey has served as UPMC Horizon president since 2009, prior to which he was vice president of clinical support services.
