University of Rochester (N.Y.) Medical Center named Mark B. Taubman, MD, senior vice president for health sciences and CEO, effective Jan. 1, 2015.
Dr. Taubman currently serves as the dean of the School of Medicine and Dentistry at URMC. He will continue to serve as dean after he assumes his new post in January. A board-certified cardiologist, Dr. Taubman came to the URMC as chief of the cardiology unit and Paul N. Yu Professor of Medicine in February 2003.
Dr. Taubman succeeds Bradford C. Berk, MD, PhD, who announced plans to transition to a new role directing the university's emerging Rochester Neurorestorative Institute.
