Baltimore-based University of Maryland Medical System named Michelle Lee senior vice president and CFO, effective in March 2019. She succeeds Henry J. Franey, who will take on the role of special advisor to the president and CEO at UMMS.
Ms. Lee is currently senior vice president of corporate finance and system controller. She joined UMMS as the senior director for financial reporting in 2000. She previously served as an audit senior manager at KPMG, an international accounting firm. She has served on the board of Healthcare Financial Management Association and is currently vice chair of the executive council of Women United of the United Way of Central Maryland.
Mr. Franey has served in senior leadership positions within UMMS since 1992. He was previously a healthcare consulting partner at KPMG. He is a past president of Maryland's Healthcare Financial Management Association. He holds an MBA in finance from Loyola University Maryland in Baltimore.
