The University of Iowa, based in Iowa City, is combining the positions of vice president for medical affairs and dean of its medical school into a single position, which will be held by Jean Robillard, the former interim university president, according to an Iowa City Press-Citizen report.
Here are five things to know about Mr. Robillard.
1. He will begin the single role Feb. 15.
2. He has served as UI vice president for medical affairs since 2007.
3. Previously, he was dean of the UI Carver College of Medicine. He served in both that role and the vice president for medical affairs role until 2008.
4. With Mr. Robillard moving into the single role, Debra Schwinn, who has served as dean of the UI medical school since November 2012, will become the associate vice president for medical affairs.
5. Mr. Robillard said of the leadership shuffling, "I think it will continue to give us an opportunity to be even more integrated than we were before — to be more transparent, to be more flexible, to be more agile in some of the organization," according to the report.
