Tim Brierty, who served as CEO of San Antonio-based University Hospital for five years, confirmed he is no longer at his post, according to a San Antonio Express-News report.
Here are four things to know about Mr. Brierty.
1. The change in his role took effect Monday.
2. Although Mr. Brierty is no longer acting as CEO of University Hospital, he told the San Antonio Express-News he is still employed by the hospital's parent organization, Bexar County-operated University Health System, and he is still in talks with officials there about his official departure.
3. Mr. Brierty did not disclose details on the reasons for the job change. University Health System also did not disclose any details on the issue, citing personnel issues.
4. According to the report, Ed Banos, University Health System's executive vice president and COO, remains executive leader over hospital operations, but it's not clear if he will take over Mr. Brierty's position as CEO of University Hospital, or if somebody else has been appointed interim CEO.
