Troy Caraway will join West Des Moines, Iowa-based UnityPoint Health to head the company's recently acquired Physicians Plus Insurance Corp. in Madison, Wis.
Mr. Caraway will act as senior vice president of the insurance division for UnityPoint Health and CEO of PPIC. In his new role, Mr. Caraway will lead the strategic development of the new insurance division and form partnerships with stakeholders to develop new insurance product offerings, among other roles.
Mr. Caraway has been with Optum, a technology and services division of UnitedHealth Group, for 14 years, most recently serving as senior vice president for member acquisition and retention.
UnityPoint acquired PPIC as part of its affiliation with Madison-based Meriter Health Services.
