Unity Health CEO to retire, ending 26-year tenure: 6 things to know

Searcy, Ark.-based Unity Health President and CEO Raymond W. Montgomery II, is retiring, effective Aug. 8, according to an Arkansas Online report.

Here are six things to know:

1. Mr. Montgomery has worked at the medical center since 1988.

2. He became the hospital's president and CEO in 1992, prior to which he was COO.

3. During his tenure, the hospital established the second-largest family medicine residency program in Arkansas.

4. Mr. Montgomery also oversaw a major rebranding and spearheaded a collaboration with the Mayo Clinic Care Network.

5. He is the American Hospital Association's representative on the Arkansas Foundation for Medical Care's and Arkansas Center for Health Improvement's boards of directors.

6. Previously, he served as chairman of AHA's Regional Policy Board 7.
