Tyrone (Pa.) Regional Health Network, previously known as Tyrone Hospital, has named CNO Sharon Fisher, MSN, RN, as interim CEO following the resignation of Stephen Gildea.
Ms. Fisher will serve in the interim role while the TRHN board of directors conducts a search for an executive to fill the CEO position.
"Sharon worked very closely with Steve and works closely with the board of directors in her role as CNO. She will be a good fit as interim. It will be a smooth transition and business as usual," Kelly Wike, president of the TRHN board of directors, said in a prepared statement.
Ms. Wike added that the leadership change does not affect the hospital's current negotiations to become a member of Penn State Health, a new nonprofit entity to contain the health system formed by the planned merger between Penn State Milton S. Hershey (Pa.) Medical Center and PinnacleHealth System in Harrisburg, Pa.
