Tenet names chief medical operations officer: 4 things to know

Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare tapped Ernest Franklin, MD, to serve as chief medical operations officer, effective Jan. 7, 2019.

Here are four things to know:

1. Dr. Franklin most recently served as senior vice president of clinical value and integration at Dallas-based Baylor Scott and White Health.

2. Previously, he was senior vice president in surgical and ancillary Services for Baylor Scott and White Health.

3. He holds an MBA from the Olin School of Business at Washington University in St. Louis in addition to his training as a general surgeon.

4. In his new role, Dr. Franklin will oversee clinical programs and quality initiatives alongside Sally Hurt-Deitch, Tenet's vice president of patient care services and chief nursing officer.
