Tenet Healthcare CEO Saum Sutaria, MD, has been elected to serve as chair of the board of directors of the Dallas-based system, effective immediately.
Dr. Sutaria takes over the role from J. Robert Kerrey, who is transitioning to lead director of the board, according to an Aug. 10 news release. Mr. Kerrey previously served as lead director from 2017 to 2022.
Dr. Sutaria has served as Tenet's CEO since September 2021 and has been a member of the board of directors since 2020. He previously served as Tenet's COO.
