Tampa (Fla.) General Hospital selected Judith M. Ploszek to serve as its permanent CFO. She has been serving as acting CFO for the past year.
Ms. Ploszek assumed the CFO role on an interim basis when Steve Short became Tampa General's acting president and CEO. Mr. Short served at the helm of the hospital after Jim Burkhart resigned unexpectedly in November 2016.
In June, Tampa General named John Couris its new president and CEO. Mr. Couris made Ms. Ploszek's appointment permanent. Mr. Short was named executive vice president and special counsel to the CEO.
Ms. Ploszek worked at Tampa General since 1988, when she joined as vice president for finance. Her previous experience includes public accounting roles with Arthur Andersen & Co., and consulting roles with Kaufman, Hall & Associates as well as financial management positions with three other hospitals.
Ms. Ploszek holds an MBA from the University of Chicago.
