Scott Briner, CEO of Sweeny (Texas) Community Hospital, is stepping down from the role to pursue entrepreneurship opportunities.
Mr. Briner became CEO of the 20-bed critical access hospital in 2016. He was previously vice president of professional services at Lake Jackson, Texas-based CHI St. Luke's Health-Brazosport.
During his tenure at Sweeny Community Hospital, he oversaw the onboarding of a new emergency room physician group and played a key role in securing a U.S. Department of Agriculture loan to build a replacement campus.
Kelly Park, RN, chief nursing officer of the hospital, will be become interim CEO. Mr. Briner will assist in the transition of leadership.
