Since January, Sue Schade has been serving as interim CIO of Cleveland-based University Hospitals, but in a post on her blog, she said she is now transitioning out of that role.
Ms. Schade writes she is in the final weeks of her interim CIO appointment as the transition to the new permanent CIO — Joy Grosser — began last week.
Ms. Schade does not have firm plans for once she leaves her post, but she is welcoming the change of pace. "The idea of this next chapter I started in January was to have more flexibility and work less than full time over the course of the year," she wrote. "As I've encouraged others in the past, I am 'open to the possibilities.'"
In the next few weeks, Ms. Schade said she plans to share as much knowledge as she can to Ms. Grosser. There is no set timeline on the transition period, only that she will stay on through a "successful transition," she wrote. "It's unclear how we'll measure success, but I believe our boss, the new CIO and I will know it when we see it," she wrote.
Ms. Grosser officially joined UH Sept. 12. She previously was CIO of West Des Moines, Iowa-based UnityPoint Health.
