Dallas-based Steward Health Care hired Jim Olson to serve as chief communications officer, effective Sept. 1.
Here are four notes:
1. Mr. Olson most recently served as senior vice president of corporate communications at United Airlines.
2. He previously served as vice president of corporate communications at Starbucks, US Airways (now American Airlines) and Overture.
3. He holds an MBA from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles and serves on the board of directors of the USC Center for Public Relations.
4. In his new role, Mr. Olson will serve as chief spokesperson for Steward and oversee the health system's public image, global communications strategy and employee engagement, among others.
