St. Mary's Hospital in Decatur, Ill., has named Phillip D. Barnell, MD, as CMO.
Dr. Barnell has served as an emergency physician, EMS medical director and chair of the Department of Emergency Services at St. Mary's Hospital. He has also served as predoctoral coordinator at University of Illinois College of Medicine at Urbana.
Dr. Barnell is board-certified in family medicine, emergency medicine and sports medicine and is a current member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, the American Academy of Family Medicine, the American College of Emergency Physicians, the American Association of Physician Specialists and the Illinois College of Emergency Physicians, according to the article.
