John Flanders, CEO of St. Mary's Hospital in Streator, Ill., won't stay with the organization replacing the hospital in January, officials said, according to a report from The Times.
Here are three things to know about Mr. Flanders.
1. Springfield, Ill.-based Hospital Sisters Health System is discontinuing inpatient healthcare services at St. Mary's Hospital and transferring ownership of the hospital and its related facilities to Peoria, Ill.-based OSF Healthcare System. OSF already has a physician office building in Streator and plans to initially use the former hospital building to provide outpatient services. However, OSF has plans to build a new outpatient center in Streator. Mr. Flanders will remain with the hospital's current owner, HSHS.
2. HSHS spokesman Brian Reardon told The Times Mr. Flanders plans to continue with HSHS through the end of March to assist with post-transition projects in Streator. After that time, Mr. Flanders will evaluate the next steps in his career, he added.
3. Previously, Mr. Flanders was COO of Oregon City, Ore.-based Providence Willamette Falls Medical Center. Prior to that he worked at hospitals in Wisconsin.
