Jim Angle, CEO of Boise, Idaho-based St. Luke's East Region, has resigned, according to an Idaho Statesman report.
Here are five things to know about Mr. Angle and his resignation.
1. Mr. Angle resigned Oct. 7, and his resignation took effect immediately.
2. The hospital contends the resignation has no connection with the death of a child caused by a medication mistake at St Luke's Magic Valley Regional Medical Center in Twin Falls, Idaho, according to the report.
3. St. Luke's learned of Mr. Angle's intention to resign several months ago "to pursue a new chapter in his career," a statement from the hospital reads, according to the Idaho Statesman.
4. Mr. Angle has led St. Luke's Magic Valley in March 2011. Prior to that, he held a CEO job at a Salem, N.J. hospital. He also previously served as a medical center vice president in Utica, N.Y., and director of mental health services at another New York hospital.
5. In the wake of Mr. Angle's resignation, Chris Roth, St. Luke's system COO, will serve as acting St. Luke's East Region CEO.
