St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, Ga., has named Kirk Wilson interim president and CEO, according to the Ledger-Enquirer.
Mr. Wilson has more than 35 years of healthcare executive experience. Previously, he served as president and CEO of St. Joseph Healthcare in Atlanta.
Former president and CEO of St. Francis, Robert Granger, resigned a month ago after leading the hospital for 10 years. The hospital has been struggling with a financial crisis since last fall. It is currently dealing with a $30 million shortfall.
"We believe Kirk Wilson will be able to make improvements in the day-to-day operation of the hospital," said Richard Bradley, chairman of the St. Francis board of trustees. "This will allow the board to continue to focus on correcting the financial course of the organization."
