Maryann Reese, CEO of St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Belleville, Ill., is planning to leave the hospital July 30 for a new job, according to the Belleville News-Democrat.
Here are five things to know about Ms. Reese.
1. Ms. Reese has accepted a new position as executive vice president and COO of Saint Francis Health System in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
2. Ms. Reese will begin her new job Aug. 10.
3. Ms. Reese has been CEO of St. Elizabeth's since January 2011.
4. During her tenure at St. Elizabeth's, the hospital's parent company Hospital Sisters Health System received approval from the Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review Board for St. Elizabeth's to build a replacement hospital in O'Fallon, Ill. Belleville-based Memorial Hospital, which is building a second facility in O'Fallon, strongly opposed St. Elizabeth's plan.
5. HSHS will be conducting a search for Ms. Reese's replacement, according to the report. HSHS expects to have an interim CEO in place prior to Ms. Reese's departure at the end of this month.
